Project Finance Model

The CARES Project  Finance Model has been designed to provide your group with a tool you can use to determine the financial viability of your project. An additional outcome of this is that you are required to gather all the necessary financial information and project spend schedule information in a format that is clear and transparent, and easily interpreted by a potential lender.

The CARES Toolkit Finance Model Guide has been created to provide guidance on sample input data that can be used in the Project Finance Model and how to use the sensitivity analysis functionality of the model to determine the financial viability your project. This document provides examples of input values and definitions of the inputs required for wind and hydro projects, as well as links to further information. This can be used in conjunction with the Example Finance Model spreadsheet to develop a model for your own project (NB you will need Microsoft Excel 2007 or later to view these files).
