Infrastructure & Innovation Fund (IIF) - Project Summaries

The Infrastructure & Innovation Fund has awarded support to over 40 different projects to date across Scotland, from the central belt all the way to the Outer Hebrides. All projects supported have been considered in relation to the following priority areas of the fund:

  • overcoming barriers relating to grid capacity issues;
  • energy storage and active network management;
  • linking local energy demand with local renewable energy generation;
  • delivering renewable heat and electricity to local consumers; and
  • addressing barriers that communities face in areas of constrained electricity networks.

To view detailed summaries of a selection of previously supported projects, and/or some that were unsuccessful at the first application stage but could provide useful lessons for others seeking to take a project forwards to the IIF Panel, see the links listed to the left of this page.

Project summaries are provided to both help prospective applicants to learn from, and be inspired by previous projects, and to let others who wish to simply understand and explore community energy projects in practice to read about some already underway or complete.
