What's coming up in the community energy sector in 2014
2013 saw the formation of Local Energy Scotland, a nationwide consortium of partners delivering the Scottish Government's Community and Renewable Energy Scheme, and we are excited to see what 2014 will bring.
In early spring, we will hold a Local Energy Scotland conference - more details to come soon. This will be a day full of workshops and seminars on involvement in community and locally owned renewables and we are delighted to welcome Fergus Ewing to this event as keynote speaker.
We hope 2014 will see many more community groups and rural businesses take forward renewable energy projects with support from CARES - if you would like to find out more about the financial support we offer, click here.
On the 17th of January, public consultation will close on the Scottish Government Good Practice Principles for Community Benefits from Onshore Renewable Energy Developments, a document created by Local Energy Scotland through CARES. Please read through the document and submit any responses by the 17th here.
Finally, we look forward to continuing work in an enthusiastic and inspiring sector over the coming year. If you have any queries or want to speak to us about local energy, please get in touch, or if you have any news stories that you would like us to share on your behalf, we would love to hear from you.
We are delighted to welcome Fergus Ewing to this event as keynote speaker.
