Sharing the 500MW target

Local Energy Scotland will be holding a CARES conference in Glasgow on the 5th March 2014, 10am - 4pm.

This free event will be held at the Lighthouse, 11 Mitchell Lane, Glasgow, G1 3NU.

The Scottish Government has set a target of 500MW of community and locally owned renewables by 2020. The target includes both community owned and locally owed projects. Local Energy Scotland delivers the Scottish Government's Community and Renewable Energy Scheme, to help Scotland reach this ambitious goal.

We are pleased to welcome Fergus Ewing, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism as keynote speaker to the event.

The conference will showcase inspiring stories from communities who have first-hand experience of involvement with locally owned renewable energy projects. This will be supported through workshops where delegates will be invited to explore topics such as project finance, community benefit and National Forestry Estate projects in detail.
