Situated at Marshill Farm, South Lanarkshire, the wind project is almost complete with a final switch on date of 24 August 2015. Ms Campbell will be present to formally open the site and this event represents a fantastic opportunity to learn about the development process and the benefits of community owned renewables.

Marshill Farm Wind Project

Through the Lesmahagow Development Trust (LDT) the local community have shared ownership of the Marshill Farm wind project and will have a six figure income per year for the next twenty years from their per MW payment, along with dividends as part owners of the turbines. This project received financial assistance through the Community and Renewable Energy Loan Scheme (CARES) and the Renewable Energy Investment Fund (REIF). The development of the Marshill Farm wind project is an excellent demonstration of what can be achieved through the mutual trust and understanding between developers and the local community.

The free event is taking place between 12pm – 2pm (lunch included) on Monday 14 September 2015. If you would like to attend please reserve a ticket here. For any further information about the event please email jennifer@localenergyscotland.org.
