Understanding Community Renewables and Shared Ownership Opportunities

Is your community developing or likely to develop your own renewable energy project in the future?  Is your community considering investing in a commercial renewables project? Do you want the chance to discuss what opportunities there might be for your community?

Join Argyll and Bute Council in partnership with Local Energy Scotland for a day of learning and inspiration, gain a better understanding of community renewables, what is involved in developing your own project and what opportunities exist for community organisations within Argyll.

The event is taking place during Community Energy Fortnight and is aimed at representatives from community organisations and anyone with an interest in developing community owned renewables or investing in a shared ownership scheme. In addition communities who have existing community renewable energy projects are encouraged to attend and contribute their experiences.

The programme for the day will offer the chance to learn from communities who have already invested in community renewables as well as providing advice on key issues such as grid connections, planning and community development.

The event is taking place on Wednesday 9 September 2015 between 10.00am – 3.30pm (registration from 9.30am) at Council Chambers, Argyll and Bute Council, Kilmory, Lochgilphead, PA31 8RT. Places are limited to 1-2 people per organisation and must be booked in advance. Please book to confirm your attendance.
