Visit the Galson Community Wind Turbines

This is an exciting opportunity to visit an operational wind project in the Western Isles and to learn about the development of this community project. The public event is taking place on Tuesday 15 September at 14:00.

The success of the Galson Community Wind Turbines project is the result of the work of the Galson Community Trust. There are three 900kW wind turbines in place, supplying electricity to the national grid and generating revenue for the local community. Two additional turbines were added in 2015 to the original turbine, giving the site a total installed capacity of 2.7MW.

Members of the Galson Community Trust will be present on the 15th September to talk about their experiences and the benefits of the project, alongside Murdo Murray, Local Energy Scotland’s Western Isles Development Officer, who will be present to discuss the support available through CARES.

If you would like to join us at the Galson Community Wind Turbines please email murdo@hi.localenergyscotland.org to reserve your place at this event.
