Encouraging Community Renewables

We would like to invite you to attend “Local Energy Scotland Parliamentary Reception - Encouraging Community Renewables”

The Local Energy Scotland Parliamentary Reception will take place in the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday 28th January 2015 (6pm - 8pm) to celebrate and promote community ownership of renewables in Scotland.

The event is kindly being hosted by Rob Gibson MSP (Convener of Rural Affairs, Climate Change & Environment Committee) and the keynote speaker is the Minister for Business, Energy and Enterprise, Fergus Ewing MSP.  The reception will include short speeches from Rob Gibson MSP, the Minister for Energy Fergus Ewing MSP, Chris Morris from Local Energy Scotland and Infinergy.

The event will highlight the support and resources available from Local Energy Scotland through the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES). There will be opportunity to network and discuss this support, including the Partnership Portal and the recently launched Project Management Framework. With increasing national focus on shared ownership and collaborative approaches, this evening will be an opportunity to bring together MSPs with community groups, support organisations, renewable energy developers and other relevant stakeholders.  We are holding the reception to outline to guests the potential across Scotland for community ownership, partnership and involvement in renewables and we hope you can join us.

Our thanks go to Infinergy for sponsoring this event and providing refreshments.

Venue: Fairfax Somerville Room (Committee Room 2), Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh

Date: 6pm – 8pm, Wednesday 28th January.
