CARES Development Officer

The Local Development Officer will provide free and impartial advice to communities, rural businesses and landowners to generate and/or benefit from renewable energy projects. This support will include advice on funding streams, assistance in all aspects of renewable energy development from inception onwards and including financial modeling securing finance and getting projects to financial close. The post holder will work closely with the CARES Team and other colleagues across Scotland and where experience is demonstrated share knowledge and skills across the CARES network.As part of a consortium, Scarf delivers the Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) in the north east. CARES is a Scottish Government funded programme which provides support, advice and financial support to community groups and rural businesses who wish to generate renewable energy or gain benefit from local commercial renewable energy schemes. The service is delivered on behalf of the Scottish Government and managed by the Energy Saving Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity and our ideal candidate will be a dynamic and dedicated individual with experience of working with communities at a local level. Excellent customer service and an ability to work independently are essential. The candidate should be target driven and experienced in delivering a quality service with a high standard of written report writing and excellent presentation skills. Ideally the candidate should have an interest in local socio-economics and have experience of working in the renewable and /or financial sector.

A full driving license is essential and access to your own vehicle for business purposes is preferable for this position.
