Local Energy Challenge Fund Showcase 2017 - 15th February - Glasgow

Venue:   The Academy, 150 Ingram Street, Glasgow, G1 1ES

Date:      15th February 2017

Time:      11:00 - 17:00

- Detailed agenda below -

Our event will focus on how the Challenge Fund projects can be part of Scotland’s energy future - how can we overcome the challenges facing the sector to deliver profitable local energy projects? The Challenge Fund projects show a local energy economy approach linking energy generation to energy use. This includes projects looking to develop innovative energy distribution and storage solutions that have an overall aim of creating more local value and benefit.

In the first part of the day you will hear a brief overview from each of the eight project teams that are currently supported by the Challenge Fund.

Lunch time will kick off at 12:30 with complimentary lunch and an informal opportunity for you to meet the project teams, ask questions and see some of the innovative equipment and software used in the projects in an exhibition-like set up.

For the afternoon session we are delighted to be joined by Sue Kearns, Head of Energy Deployment at Scottish Government, who will outline the Scottish Government’s perspective on Scotland’s energy future. This will be followed by a talk by Jennifer Ramsay, Local Energy Challenge Fund manager, on the successes and lessons learnt from the Local Energy Challenge Fund to date. Last but not least the project team of the EASTHEAT project will provide insight into their project which uses their unique phase-change material to store heat - a very innovative approach and product developed right here in Scotland.

We want to hear your thoughts on local energy, and specifically on the opportunities for Scottish Government support and in the Scottish Government’s Energy Strategy. If you would like to arrange an individual meeting with one of the attending project representatives this can be accommodated, please get in touch if you would like to arrange for this.

Thanks again for being part of our event; we look forward to seeing you there.

This will be a very popular event so register your interest now! We look forward to seeing you there.
